Founded in 2005, Breakaway is a new mountain village in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just north of Asheville, North Carolina. Inspired by Seaside, Florida, Breakaway is being built with a foundation of new urbanism design, while connecting the scenic mountain environment with an idyllic urban setting.
From the outset the goal of the founders has been to create a community. With single-family homes, townhouses, and a village center, all designed to seamlessly fit within the natural beauty of the mountainous backdrop of western North Carolina, the new village set a high bar for itself.
