The village center at Breakaway is being prepared for summer. After vandals broke windows and damaged some of the buildings in the commercial section of the community, efforts are under way to repair the damage. In addition, the buildings will get new floors and paint.
Breakaway Development Company has taken over the development of the project and intends to open a sales center in the village center in June. In addition, the central park is being revitalized as are the other areas at the heart of the community. With the purchase of the ski resort in March 2023, efforts are also underway to reopen the Breakaway ski run next season. The new owners of the ski resort have also indicated that they intend to offer mountain biking on the mountain.
